How long does a MagnaCleanse flush take?

A Magnacleanse system flush usually takes 4 to 8 hours, although the total time depends on the size of the property, the number of radiators and how heavily contaminated the system is. I will assess the system before starting and explain what is required.

Do I need a system flush before installing a new boiler?

Not every heating system is dirty enough to actually need flushing, especially if it has been well maintained and the magnetic filter is clean. However, a chemical clean is normally carried out as part of a new boiler installation anyway. A MagnaCleanse flush is only recommended when the system is heavily contaminated and needs a more thorough clean before the new boiler is fitted.

Will a MagnaCleanse flush fix cold radiators?

It can help when cold spots or slow-heating radiators are caused by sludge and restricted circulation. However, radiator problems can also be caused by trapped air, faulty valves, poor balancing or other faults, so the system should be checked before recommending a flush.

Do I need a magnetic filter afterwards?

A permanent magnetic filter is strongly recommended because it continues capturing circulating magnetite after the flush has been completed.
