Central heating system flushing in Newcastle & North Tyneside

Powerful sludge removal with a gentler, controlled MagnaCleanse system flush.

MagnaCleanse system flushing

MagnaCleanse provides a powerful but controlled deep clean for your heating system. Heated cleaning chemicals, magnetic filtration and targeted radiator agitation loosen and capture sludge without relying on an aggressive high-velocity flush. This gentler approach is particularly suitable for older or more vulnerable heating systems, while helping restore circulation, improve radiator performance and protect your boiler.

Sludge removal

Powerful magnetic filtration captures black magnetite and iron oxide before it can circulate around your heating system.

Radiator cleaning

Each radiator is individually worked to loosen stubborn deposits and improve water circulation.

Boiler protection

Cleaner system water helps reduce wear on pumps, heat exchangers and other important components.

Long-term protection

Fresh inhibitor helps reduce future corrosion and keeps your heating system cleaner for longer.

Why choose a MagnaCleanse flush?

Unlike a simple drain down or basic chemical clean, a MagnaCleanse process continuously removes contamination while the system is being cleaned. Powerful external magnets capture loosened sludge before it can circulate back around the heating system, helping achieve a deeper clean with less disruption. Once complete, fresh inhibitor protects the system against future corrosion, and a magnetic filter can provide ongoing protection.

FAQs

A MagnaCleanse flush is a deep clean for your central heating system. Specialist cleaner is circulated while powerful magnets capture black sludge and magnetite. Each radiator is also agitated to loosen stubborn deposits, helping remove more contamination from the system.

A Magnacleanse system flush usually takes 4 to 8 hours, although the total time depends on the size of the property, the number of radiators and how heavily contaminated the system is. I will assess the system before starting and explain what is required.

Not every heating system is dirty enough to actually need flushing, especially if it has been well maintained and the magnetic filter is clean. However, a chemical clean is normally carried out as part of a new boiler installation anyway. A MagnaCleanse flush is only recommended when the system is heavily contaminated and needs a more thorough clean before the new boiler is fitted.

It can help when cold spots or slow-heating radiators are caused by sludge and restricted circulation. However, radiator problems can also be caused by trapped air, faulty valves, poor balancing or other faults, so the system should be checked before recommending a flush.

A permanent magnetic filter is strongly recommended because it continues capturing circulating magnetite after the flush has been completed. This provides ongoing protection for the boiler and helps keep the system cleaner for longer. An existing filter can be cleaned and checked during the service.

There is no fixed schedule for every heating system. A flush may be recommended when there are signs of sludge, cold radiator areas, dirty system water, poor circulation or repeated component problems. Regular servicing of the magnetic filter and maintaining the correct inhibitor level can help reduce the need for another deep clean.
